The amount of action in this was crazy! So the Elite Four and their Student Council head Satsuki battle it out against Ryuko- this was a delight to see, as earlier on we saw her fight them one on one. Very well animated too! The only thing that detracted from the fight itself were the dialogues and those strange panel scenes. Ping Pong pulled it off so much stronger at adding those in tune with the music and the plot- here it just felt forced. The animators were trying to be even more unique when it didn’t need to be.
Mako has got to be one of the most humorous characters I’ve seen in quite some time- she’s so random and silly that this contrasts Ryuko’s harsh and stoic personality extremely well. Aside from that here we see her finally put on Senketsu only to punch Ryuko in the face- stripping herself and forcing Ryuko to wear him once again! She’s a fantastic person in the show that’s continuously headstrong and balances not just Ryuko but the rest of the cast well even more so in her serious moments! The segment where Mako broke inside of Ryuko’s mind and heart to break her dream state marriage was quite inventive.
That fight between Nui and Satsuki was drawn so beautifully and it was great to see Nui lose her cool! So much blood after getting stabbed by the other half of the scissor! This show doesn’t hold back one bit!
OVERALL IMPRESSION: 6/10
