With this new season underway and my 200th blog post completed I figured it would be a good time to talk about some of the changes I’ve made to the site. I felt like the links to the blog posts were too long on the right side so I decided to add a drop down menu. Also, I’ve added tags to the new shows that I will be covering. That way it’s easier to know what series lands on what anime season for future postings. I’ve dropped quite a few shows including Glass no Kamen which I only did the first episode of and Sword Art Online II.
At last we are at the big part of the Fall 2014 season with the two MAPPA studio productions! Shingeki no Bahamut: Genesis and Garo: Honoo no Kokuin.
Based on a 2012 card game after seeing the first trailer to this I was immediately sold. MAPPA is one of my up and coming favorite animation studios out there right now.
This is how to write a first episode as we’re introduced to two of the main characters of the show: Kaisar Lidfard a tightly wound up man that upholds justice. Then there’s Favaro Leone a womanizing troublemaker of a bandit. Somehow the spanish tracks worked really well here as it set the tone of swashbuckler films like Pirates of the Caribbean and older Western films.
Keiichi Satou gives this amazing view of Mistarcia, the world it is set in for 17-century Spain. I enjoyed how strong Kaisar’s irritation played off to Favaro’s antics and vice-versa- as this will be a crazy fun adventure, and if the ending was anything but bizarre we haven’t seen anything yet! With the musical composer of Tiger & Bunny, director of Karas, and animation team behind Zankyou no Terror we are in for a big treat for this Fall 2014 season!
