PLOT: Amami Hibiki is a girl who can see ghosts and other supernatural phenomena in her surroundings. The stories follow her daily life with both her friends and the otherworldly.

This wasn’t exactly a great premiere by any stretch.  Studio Pierrot animated this horribly and this story isn’t much to write home about either–  a character designer from Artland being put into the director’s role?  Masashi Kudo should stick with animation.  I’m not sure what was up with the background art but that is some of the worst CG I think I’ve ever seen.

This anime is based off a 4-koma adaptation and I can really see a lack in ingenuity– Amami can see ghosts and while the first two gags are cute the rest falls short of being nothing but mundane only to fill up time.  The main cast being sincere and sweet is a good balance to the cat being a pervert but it isn’t anything memorable.

What also doesn’t work here is that series writer Takashi Aoshima has mostly written fantasy romance harems–  where is the heart to this show?  It’s just a collection of short stories that intertwine though humor reels without strengthening its characters first and foremost!

OP: “Colorful Story” (カラフルストーリー) by every♥ing!

Generic song with animation that is poorly drawn–  there are some scenes that looked as if Studio Pierrot hadn’t finished in time for broadcast.

ED: “Kesaran Pasaran” (ケサランパサラン) by every♥ing!

What am I watching with this?  Chibi style that mostly features the cat and Inoue’s dissatisfaction with spirits.  The song just like the OP is the same band backed up behind a slightly different techno beat.  More of a chromatic style and it doesn’t work here at all!

OVERALL IMPRESSION: 2/10
